    **APPLE CRISP**

    * 2 pounds of Granny Smith Apple (peeled, cored and sliced)
    * 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter (melted)
    * 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
    * 3 tablespoons of water
    * 1 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
    * 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
    * 1/4 cup of light brown sugar
    * 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    * 1 pinch salt

    **CRISP TOPPING**

    * 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
    * 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
    * 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
    * 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
    * 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
    * 1/4 teaspoon of salt
    * 1/3 cup of unsalted butter (diced into small cubes)

    **INSTRUCTIONS:** Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F). Begin by preparing crisp topping. In a bowl, whisk flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add cold diced butter to dry ingredients and crumble together using hands or food processor. Mixture should resemble wet sand. Cool topping in fridge while preparing the apple filling.

    In another bowl, whisk melted butter and flour until paste consistency. Then stir in water, lemon juice, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Mixture should resemble a loose caramel.

    Peel, core and slice apples. Pour caramel over apples and toss until well coated. Place coated apples in a greased baking dish and sprinkle an even layer of crisp topping. Bake in oven for 35 minutes until apple are tender and topping is golden brown.

    Rest for 10 minutes and serve with ice cream. Enjoy!
